Duties & Responsibilities
AR Staff Liaison/Insurances
Able to track and trend payer issues
Support department as needed or during short-staffing
Develop expertise in reporting
Support Supervisor with reporting or projects
Manage Tasks
Work follow-ups, correspondence and denials as assigned.
Demographic updates
Eligibility, Authorization, Credentialing, Adjustments, Refunds & File Maintenance
Obtain patient medical records from offices and/or hospitals for claim processing
Phone Support
Patient Support (Walk-in Questions or Disputes)
Patient Payment Posting
Reconciles account balances with insurances and patients
Must be knowledgeable with HCPC, CPT, ICD-9 coding
Answers phone inquiries from payers as well as patient calls
Assists with related special projects as required
Attends required meetings
Safeguard the privacy of patient health information
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to comprehend medical insurance policies and filing limits (1st submission, corrected, appeal, grievance)
Ability to understand patient statements and insurance payments explanation of benefits (EOB) to answer questions in relation to claims
Ability to research and work accounts receivable aging and understand general AR management: 30 days to 180+ days
Experience in claims management, denials, and appeal processes
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Self-motivated, detail-oriented and possess strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
Ability to give and take feedback from others in a professional manner
Ability to multitask
Knowledge of medical terminology
Computer Skills: Excel, Word
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour

- AR: 3 years (Required)
- medical business office: 1 year (Preferred)
